Larry's Gmail Indexer is an application that works great with Google Desktop. Google Desktop allows you to search for files on your computer and find them almost instantly. Windows comes with an application similar to Google Desktop, but, still, many users prefer Google to Microsoft. Anyhow, Larry's Gmail Indexer could be called a plug-in for Google Desktop. Its purpose is simple: to allow users to find matches contained in their Gmail accounts when they carry out searches from Google Desktop. The idea is actually great. However, when taken into practice, the application is laggy, fails a lot, and crashes many times. For months it has presented bugs that were easily repairable, but the developers failed to provide a simple fix. In short, this application is a must for those who search a lot on their Gmail accounts, but those who barely use it are not to see a benefit from it. The indexing time will be slower if your Gmail account has a lot of e-mails in it, so don't expect it to sync in a matter of minutes. |
